Stereotypes follow us throughout life: Women can’t handle tools, men aren’t interested in skincare.
STOP THAT! You know just as well as I do that this isn’t true. You can’t fit everyone into a box that might have worked 500 years ago. Things aren’t black and white. Even the role of fathers has evolved over time. More and more men actively participate in raising their children and family life, even taking paternity leave while their partner works—and that’s amazing! People talk a lot about how women’s roles have changed since the emancipation movement, but no one really talks about the changes men have gone through. The fact is: The perception of men and women has shifted—away from rigid traditional roles and all the expectations that come with them.
Just as there are women who can handle tools better than some men, there are also many men who are genuinely interested in skincare. You’d be surprised how many there actually are!
Julia even shared in her product reviews how surprised she was when her husband suddenly showed such enthusiasm for his skincare routine. Long story short: Instead of the hundredth “Dad is the best” gift or another pack of beer, why not try something different this Father’s Day? You’ll be amazed by the positive reaction—dads appreciate being seen and valued for all aspects of who they are, including those you might not expect.
