Information about the sun cream with SPF 50

Why is sun protection important?

Sunscreen should be used every day - both in summer and winter. The right sunscreen prevents UV radiation from damaging your skin in the long term. This damage to your skin doesn't just happen when you get sunburned: UV radiation has been shown to age your skin faster. Skin that is chronically exposed to the sun without protection is also more susceptible to skin cancer. Sunburn directly damages the skin. The red blood cells then carry away the dead cells, which is where the pain and redness come from. To prevent this from happening, you should take preventative measures with the right sunscreen.

What does SPF mean?

Your skin has a certain amount of self-protection, which can protect the skin for about 10 to 30 minutes in direct sunlight, depending on your skin type and skin condition. After that, the sunscreen should take over this protection. The SPF (sun protection factor) indicates by how many minutes the self-protection time of your skin can be extended. With a sunscreen with SPF 50, you theoretically multiply your skin's self-protection time by 50 times. Learn more about SPF and self-protection time here.

What is the difference between UV-A and UV-B radiation?

UV-A radiation and UV-B radiation are both harmful to the skin. UV-B radiation is usually covered by commercial sunscreens, while UV-A radiation is neglected.

UV-B radiation:

  • More energetic than UV-A radiation, but penetrates less deeply
  • stimulates vitamin D synthesis
  • provide tan
  • cause thickening of the horny layer
  • responsible for sunburn
  • can cause skin cancer in the upper layer

UV-A radiation:

  • less energetic, but penetrates deeper
  • possibly responsible for black skin cancer
  • sun-induced skin aging (photoaging)
  • possibly triggers certain allergies

Active ingredients of the sunscreen with SPF 50

UV-A filters

The UV-A filters contained in our sunscreen with SPF 50 are of organic origin and absorb UV-A rays from about 320 to 400 nm. Thus, the sun cream can optimally protect your skin from UV-A radiation and associated premature skin aging.

UV-B filters

For optimal effect, our sunscreen contains three different UV-B filters that protect the skin from UV-B radiation. The UV-B filters absorb UV-B rays from about 280 to 320 nm.

Broadband filter

In addition, a broadband filter (BB filter) is included, which protects the skin from both UV-A and UV-B radiation.

Organic Karanja Oil

The oil contained in the sunscreen can protect the skin from UV radiation not only with a natural sun protection factor. The karanja oil or pongamia oil is a very moisturizing and nourishing oil. The precious oil from the karanja tree is an integral part of Ayurvedic medicine. The light oil not only has an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effect, but also strengthens the skin barrier.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant, which can neutralize free radicals. Thus, vitamin E in sunscreen can provide additional protection against premature skin aging.

Caprylyl Glycol

Caprylyl glycol can also help prevent skin aging. The ingredient keeps moisture in the skin for radiant and smooth skin.

Decide now to give sunburn no more chance and protect your skin from sunburn for a long time with a sun protection factor of 50!
